Huge thanks to Noah Wardrip-Fruin, Associate Professor of Computational Media at the University of California, Santa Cruz for the meeting. We received great advice on the use of AI in game-like environments at the Expressive Intelligent Studio. Prof Noah Wardrip-Fruin alongside Michael Mateas, Professor of Computational Media Director (currently on leave), run the Expressive Intelligent Studio at the Center for Games and Playable Media.
UCSC Campus is pretty amazing and really well integrated with its natural environment.
Over coffee we also had an interesting exchange on ideas in terms of curricular development, especially when considering interdisciplinary projects and subjects. These are key aspects to be seriously considered, should we want to provide a profound academic experience to students at College who do deliver better at the intersections of disciplines across the arts and the science.
